Jason H. J. Lim is a composer/producer and multi-instrumentalist from Falkirk, Scotland. 

A graduate in music performance from Perth College UHI, Scotland, he is currently a senior scholarship student at the Berklee College of Music where he is majoring in Electronic Production and Design (ELPD) with a minor in Acoustics and Electronics.  Along side performing and producing, Jason has developed skills in electronics and computer programming. He has developed custom software and hardware for a variety of projects and collaborations ranging from quadraphonic interdisciplinary 

performance works incorporating contemporary dance, to assisting artists in the 2013 Venice Biennale by developing and manufacturing a custom multichannel sound system.  Most recently Jason has been collaborating with ELPD graduate and former classmate Andrew Ikenberry.  The duo are in the process of developing products under the brand Qu-Bit Electronix.  Their debut release will be the Nebulæ, a Eurorack sample player utilizing Csound, Arduino and the Raspberry Pi.

QU-BIT ELECTRONIX, CO-FOUNDER/DEVELOPER SOFTWARE AND CIRCUIT DESIGN CURRENT

Software engineer and electrical design engineer for Qu-Bit Electronix, a Eurorack synthesizer manufacturer. With 3 products currently on the commercial market and more in the pipeline, Qu-Bit brings a contemporary addition to the modular synth format.

 

BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC, VISITING ARTIST/TECHNICAL CONSULTANT FALL ’14

Lim returned to the Berklee College of Music campus during the Fall of ’14 to work with the Berklee Interdisciplinary Arts Institute (BIAI) in collaboration with multi-media artist John Powell. Lim is involved as a visiting artist and technical advisor for the group as they develop a multi- media gallery installation piece combining lighting and audio.

 

ROCK THE TALK, MUSIC TUTOR AND YOUR LEADER, FALKIRK, UNITED KINGDOM 2007 - 2011

Founding member involved in preparation of funding bid application from “Big Lottery”. Pro- gram was successful in securing funding to run project for four years as a Youth Music and Health promotion organization. Individual/group tutoring and mentoring on guitar, bass, drum- set and audio production techniques. Secondary role as youth leader and events coordinator.
